Ditto. CAI not worth it as a first mod, tune not required.

Gears first or if you can't quite afford it, short throw shifter. If Auto, stall & trans cooler.

is your car an auto or stick???

i would say that your best bet dollar for dollar will be gears!!!!!!!! if you do gears you will need to have a way to re-cal your computer i.e. a tuner can do that. So if you do not want to do gears, you could.....Do a mid pipe or cat back, short throw shifter...

I guess you could do a CAI. But its not really worth the $$$.

How much $$$ is in your budget? And what are your plans for your car? Any track or race time, or are you just looking to make your daily driver faster?

Hope this helps....

Yeah, I'm with the rest, avoid the CAI until much later if ever. I'd vote for the shifter if its a stick (same price as a CAI about...175)....or gears, a little more costly. Midpipe will give you some power and an offroad one can be had for less than 300. Cat-backs don't offer much power but make the car sound 10x faster. I know this sounds stupid, but my car feels faster with the exhaust mods more cuz of the sound than any HP gain.

Oh...and is this a joke thread? And how come you got all that stuff in your sig...detailed list of everything...and then you got "extra large injectors"? WTF?

I would say you need a good 15th mod according to your sig . But if I would pick defiantly gears.

Well, CAI is one of those gimmic that you can live without until you have some money to waste.

By looking at your sig, looks like what you can use is a nice catback exhaust.

This whole thread really confuses me. If those mods are for a second car....how come you'd have enough sense to do all those mods on that car...and think a CAI is a good first mod for a 4.6?

Me too, can't wait until the original poster responds.

Oh, what the hell, here goes... Just throw a replacement K&N filter on it (and remove the silencer) and call it good. Assuming it's a manual, then a shifter. Then properly welded-on subframe connectors. Then a SCT Xcal2. Now you're set up for the next round, the really good stuff like gears and exhaust.

well if he's only been working on 5.0's he is probably asking what a good first mod is for a 4.6, since he's never worked on one???

atleast thats what i assume.

ok my pic: shifter, exhaust, gears

in that order
