What is an original carb off a Shelby G.T.350 worth?

I'm planning on ditching the original '67 carb on the Shelby engine in favor of a 625 Demon when I drop the engine in my car and wonder what the carb might bring. It is in running shape but could use a rebuild kit. I've saw repros going for 500-600 and decent originals for 700-900. Any experience w/ the values of them?

Save it. Put it in a box, and hide it from yourself. You'll thank me and yourself later. Otherwise, when you need it, It'll cost you even more to replace correctly!

Well...let's say I run it instead of a demon...think a rebuild kit would be that expensive? I haven't picked the engine up from my friends yet and I'm not sure what all the tags/numbers are on it. Would it be too bad or pretty bad since its a "special" carb? Think It'd do worse than a 625 demon? I know its a 715 but that comes into the whole wetflow/dryflow testing.

What size is the Shelby motor? I'll look up some rebuild prices for you and see what comes up. This would be of course for a professional rebuild. All new gaskets, cleaning, machine surfaces etc as needed to bring the carb to top working order.

EDIT: Also 4BBL Ford, 2BBL Ford, Holley etc. I don't know a whole lot about Ford car specs just yet, still learning. I just rebuild the carbs.

I just need a figure on the materials. I have no problem rebuilding a carb..hell I wish I could tune one as good as I can build one. It's a 715cfm standard Holley 4 barrel offered on the '67 Shelby G.T.350's 289 HiPo. That's about all I know till I pick it up and can get the tags.

Well depending on how much y ou were looking to spend, the company I work for would rebuild it and tune it to your specifications on a live running engine. Not trying to promote my company, just offering a service if you need it. You could always pick up a Walker rebuild kit, try your local auto parts store. Walker and Hygrade offer the best rebuild kits around, come with gaskets, needle and seats, etc. The rest of it though you are on your own, IE machine work, cleaning etc. Good luck.

If you don't have a Shelby car and don't plan on getting one, you might consider sell all the Shelby specific stuff to somebody who does have one. They get to make a factory correct car again, and you can make some nice money for aftermarket parts. JMO...

I thought of that.....but I wanna keep the Shelby stuff, i love the valve covers, oil pan, etc. I just aint 100% sure about a good 715 holley vs. 625 demon. And I also am not sure about headers...I wanna run 2.5 inch pipe but I'm not sure what size collectors are on the Shelby Tri-Ys...I made a post about that but didnt get a response.

For a 4BBL Holley, around $200 - $300, usually isn't to bad, and of course I would see about hooking you up with a better price than the General Public would see.
