Something is bad in my 8.8. I want to add a new diff. to possibly road race but more importantlly stop the one wheel peel. I also want some new axles (eh why not?) and I am thinking of going to 4.10's. My t56 has a long 1st gear.

What should I get?
Who has a great bang for the buck packaged kit?
I would prefer to keep costs down, but I understand that good parts require more money.

Suggestions please!

Great links

I cant remember the exact prices on my parts last year but I put in a set of 3.73's 31 spline FMS Differential( Think I got that and the gears from Buy Ford Racing) and Moser 31 spline axles. I did not get to try out the set up a whole lot at the track b/c I got it done late in the year but I believe it was all worth it. Im running MT ET Streets at the track and didnt want to snap a 28 spline axle hence the entire upgrade.

I know you want to keep costs down, but you might be able to get the rear suspension out of a newer cobra with IRS and slap it in since you want to road race...

If you are going to have to pay labor msutangs unlimited used to have soem rear end kits that were reasonable for a brand new rear end... I think they were in the $800-$900 range...

Rear gears arent legal on pollution controlled vehicles??? Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. Do they have to put that as some legal disclaimer or something?

I think it has to do with different states regulations or something

So to go from the 28 spline rear end to a 31 spline, you just need a new diff. and axles?

I would like to do this when I do my gears.

When I do my rear end I am going to use a F150 tloc and rebuild it using the extra clutch method, superior 31 spline axles, either my 3.73's or maybe a gear change depending on were I end up trapping at.
