I am trying to find the sweet spot for shifting I can go until I hit 5500 rpm and it starts to choke. Is that the stock rev limiter? I would like to know where most people shift at, on mostly stock engines, to get the power band on the 5.0. I have found anything after about 5100 starts to drop off and flatten, stock cam maybe?
I am just trying to get into local track racing and have never been, so I'd like to waste as few runs as possible this weekend. So a good shift spot would be great help. I am soon to mod the top of the motor but don't have all the parts yet.
