what is the stabilizer linK? and what does it do?

Its the rod(threaded at both ends with bushings) which connects the end your sway bar to your a-arm. The sway bar ties your two a-arms together to reduce body roll when cornering. If there were no links, the sway bar would have no purpose.

also called an end link, if that rings a bell.
