I need to know where the connector in the photo goes.

Over the last two days I have removed my seats, dropped the steering column, and removed the dash so I could install a heater core and brake booster. I'd say all went well, but I am at least at the point where I am raising up the steering column and reconnecting all the wiring.

Trouble is, I have this unknown connection in and amongst the wires under the steering column. Does anyone recognize it and where it might hook up?

I've looked all around the steering column and cannot find a match for it. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Are the wire colors P/O, R/LG, & BK?

Yes - the colors are purple, red, and black.

I hope this is a good sign that you know!

It belongs to the Shift Lock Actuator and plugs in at the top RH side of the steering column.

Thank you! - I'll check in the morning when the sun breaks, as I studied the column for an hour looking for a home for this connector.

More Photos: What Is This Connector

Okay, I got antsy and could not wait until the morning. I took a photo of the right side, and from below looking up at the connector for which I cannot find a home for.

Can you describe where on the column this would fit? I just cannot find any home for it. I see no connection points.

Thanks again for any help and leads.

Here is an image from the top.

Where would the Shift Lock Actuator be? I have a 5-speed manual transmission - does shift lock actuator exist on my steering column?

If you have a 5 speed then I wouldn't worry about the shift lock actuator. It is for automatics to prevent the operator from shifting out of Park without depressing the brake. The harness must be another one of those 'danglers' that Ford leaves in.
