What is this?

Anybody know for sure what this does (referring to the shiny metal box thing on the far side of the selenoid)?

I heard it was for power options... kinda clunky, i'd like to get rid of it if its only for power windows/locks etc?

That is a relay of some sort. Possibly relays power from the ignition switch to the solenoid.

That is for the power windows or locks. One of them. It's a circuit breaker of some sort. Only way i can think of ditching it is to relocate it somewhere hidden and run a power wire to it.

My car has no power windows or locks, i think i'll just tape it up and attatch it to the harness instead of hacking it off.
