Well, I just wen't to reinstall my old one, but as I suspected it's as hollow, just as I thought.....sans anything that would resemble any sort of filtering component. Perhaps we're talking about two different parts, but I can't think of anything else that should be on the line between the IAC and the intake tube? I'm sure it's just a muffler and not a filter like you originally stated.....at least as far as the 4.6L SOHC goes.
It's not going to make that big of a difference....as far as sound goes. As Kevin stated, it's only going to be noticed at idle and even then it's not something you're going to hate while it's there, or miss while it's gone.so the stupid box does nothing.....i dont want quiet....what size hose you guys replace it with..??
I don't think a 3/4" hose would hurt anything after looking at it.
