What kind of battery do you guys run?

get diehard i posted a thread on this a few days ago and i got tons of replies. just search and you will find great info

was their not just a "what batter do you guys run"

thread just last week? i'm a newb and even i know to search first, anyways the best kind of battery is whatever one gets the job done for you. it doesn't make that much of a difference if u ask me. unless u have like 4 amps and 4 subs, then maybe yes, but for what you got, go to your local auto zone or wal mart and be done with it.

Stock Motorcraft. Bought it yesterday. First one lasted 7 years, I tired a different brand and got a bad one right away. Motorcraft has 3 year warranty and pro-rated to about 8 years I think! I have under-drives and an alarm system so light weight batteries are not for me.

I bought an Optima once, and it died over a winter and that was it. Would never take a charge again. Been Motorcraft ever since, and loving it, even with a small system at one point or another.

i run an optima red top never had a problem so im lovin it so far

Motorcraft unless I can't get a hold of one, then I would go with an Advance Gold.

Running a optima yellow top in mine... Have had the battery for about 7yrs now and it still starts strong... Been in 2 different vehicles

Still have the original in my 01. It doesn't want to die. Considering one of these: Braille Battery B2015 - Braille Battery No-Weight Standard Batteries - Overview - SummitRacing.com when it does finally quit.

Didn't know about the Braille battery, but I will pick one of those up when the duralast craps out in a few months. Weight savings is worth spending a little money on.

i had an odysee (however its spelled) battery at one point. light weight was good but the battery sucked and died after a year of use. it could not stand up to the cold weather.

Should be a 8mm bolt. To put a new one on, you have to cut the old one off first. Strip the wire(s) back about 3/4 inch and clean out all the corrosion. You should find some corrosion cleaning chemicals and brushes at the auto parts store. You can buy a new clamp that will bolt to the wires you just cleaned from the auto parts store. Spray some corrosion preventative coating over the finished product. Shop around for all the parts before you start and make sure you have a good plan before you start. Don't let any of those chemicals get on your paint.

If the only problem with it is that the bolt is stripped out, I would consider just replacing the bolt and cleaning the clamp you have. Putting a new clamp on shortens the length of the wires you have enough that it may be a problem reaching the battery post.

after one complete drain you can trash an optima, they will never hold a charge again!

i have an advance auto battery in my car and it has outperformed the optima ten fold. i dont drive the car but once every 4-6 weeks so i need something that will hold a charge!

im still running factory battery...might be time for a new one

I know Johnson Controls is the largest out of the 3 main battery manufacturers in the US. Exide and Delphi are the other 2. Johnson Makes: Optima, Advance, Sears, Autozone, Wal Mart, NAPA, Pep Boys, some European specific brand names, Kirkland (Costco), and Motorcraft. I believe those are most of the brand names they make.
