What kind of ignition should I get?

So I have a 1970 351C Grande, and I have been needing a new ignition for a while now. I don't know if I should convert to an electronic ignition or and HEI distributor. I have had people suggest both to me. What would be some pros and cons about each one? I have about $300 to spend on it but the less I spend the better. Thanks for the input.

I have the whole Pertronix II setup, which is the Ignitor II module, coil and wires. It cost under $200 on ebay and I could not be happier. It starts instantly, runs very well and is trouble free so far. Can't ask for much more than that.

I have the Ignitor II module. It installs easily. Put it in, adjust it, and forget it. I Didn't spring for the coil as I already had an MSD Blaster 2. The module is even cheaper by itself.

I chose to go with the setup Bnickel recommended in this thread. when i finally figured out my electrical issues this thing fired up right away so I recommend it as well.

Pertronix I, II or the Crane XR-1. They're all good and reliable to 7500 rpms. DUI? HEI? crapola

I wouldnt choose crane as they filed BK and if there is a waranty issue you are SOL. msd 6al is always good, I use the accel 300+ multispark, digital, very small and adjustable rev limiter.

It depends on what chapter bankruptcy was filed. I've had the XR-1 on my Ranger for 3 or 4 years now with zero problems.
