What made my headlights go out??

My headlights just wouldn't come on the other night..

I had parking lights, hazards, blinkers, everything except headlights.

I just inished replacing the headlight switch and plug that goes into it (looked like it was burnt)... regardless... still no headlights.

The fuse is good... is it electrical feeding the headlights??

i have this same problem. one way i'm still able to use my head lights is if i turn the hi's on then let it go back to normal. they will usually stay on that way. this works until i can find the gremlin...

did you check the multi-function switch (MF switch, aka turn signal switch dealie). the juice flows from the headlight switch to the MF switch; the MF switch divvies up the juice depending upon if lows or brights are selected. get a DMM if you dont have one and go to town.

if you feel like it, search for a post a few weeks ago by The User - he had similar issues and it was a good thread - IIRC, BmorrisJ posted pics of his burned connector.

You were running your foglights weren't you. When this happened to my old GT I burned out the HL switch, Multi function switch(blinker thing), the clip for the Head/fog lights and a little bit of wiring. It was not a fun night.

Yea.. the foglights were the culperates... I am thinking it has to be either the mf switch or the actual wiring itself somewhere... Can someone tell me WHERE the multi-fuction switch IS though?? I've been told "under the dash", but no luck so far...

see my first post; it is the turn signal switch. if you take the upper and lower column covers off, you will see it.

and here it is once again, a quick trip to pick-a-part fixed my lighting issues...

Thanx alot guys... it was the headlight plug that was burnt out just like the picture above. Grounded the wires into the switch without it and the headlights came on!!

So... if anyone else's headlights go out, especially after using they're fogs... I guess the things to check are:
1. Bulbs
2. Fuses
3. Headlight switch and plugs
4. Multi-function switch and plugs
5. If all else fails... wiring

What made my headlights go out??
