a buddy came over tonight with a T-5 for me and him to check out that had this tag on it...what trans is this....from what we can tell it has an electric pickoff for a speedometer instead of a regular gear. He was told it was a 1992 T-5 but I say its a 1999 or later....HELP!!! Here is the tag!!!

Are you sure it's for a speedometer? There is a sending unit for the reverse lights. snap a picture.

Looks different from any other T5 I've rebuilt or taken apart. I've never seen that spacer with the straight cut lines in it behind 5th gear on the main shaft... Mine have always had 5th gear pressed on, and the clip goes on right behind it...

yup, magnetic and the speedo pickup uses that to produce an AC current. casing looks different from a fox t5, and im almost positive t5's never came with that type of speedo pickup. perhaps it is a t-45? (do not know anything about those trannies, except t5 shifters will work on em)

It is definatley a T5, and it is out of a Ford, XR3R-7003-DA is the Ford part number. 7003 is Ford's basic part number for all transmissions. I'm guessing it's out of a newer (99-04)? V6 Mustang, as they use an electric pick-up for the speedo
