i just pulled my old motor out of my car the other day and i bought another 5.0 to drop in so i could build the one i just pulled out. im looking into doing motor mounts but not sure if i should go with the stock rubber, urethane,or solid. im going to run the stock 5.0 for about a year or 2 then put the motor i build back in which im trying to build around 600hp. just wondering what i should use.Thanks.

I run solids on my 383 and a poly for the trans. I don't think it vibrates all that much. Whatever you do don't get a solid trans mount as the tranny support is right under the seats. Ive also had zero problems with header and exhaust bolts getting loose after going to solid mounts.

i've heard mixed reviews on solids. some people say it's not that bad others say it will as adam put it "rattle your teeth out". it seems to me it depends on the engine combo and cam. how rough is the idle and what not. i'm still rocking rubber replacements. i think i've decided to go with urethane but just when i'm about to get them i think i should get solids to try them out. i don't know...
