I just purchased a '97 Cobra that is stock. It has a few suspension mods and an exhaust, but the motor is stock. I was wondering what octane of gas I should use? Thanks!

you could probably get away with 87 or 89...just listen for detonation in cool weather or if you get a CAI.

Well the dealer filled it up with "premium" before I bought the car. I am not sure what octane they used. It got down to a little less than 3/4 tank and I filled it up with 89 octane. Do you know what the manual recommmends? My car didn't come with one.

Look at your speedo/cluster - premium fuel only.

I know it says to use premium on the speedo cluster, but I was just wondering what octane people were using?

I filled up with 89 yesterday at $2.39 a gallon. Not too shabby. The car seems to be running well!

I didn't say that 89 was premium, I just said that is what I filled up with. My car didn't come with the original manuals, any idea where I could buy them at besides ebay?

I use 2 gal of 101 blended with the rest of 93.

Ford says they hold 15, I only get 13....which makes my octane 94.230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769230769
