what oil to use?

i always used mobil1 in my hot rod truck. then at the first oil change in my old 02' v6 i put mobie1 in it too and it seemed to run a lot better. i'm wondering what i should run in my gt when i change the oil?
right now it has about 80,500 miles on it and just had an oil change so at about 83,000 i'll need to change it again.

would it be safe to switch to mobil1 with this many miles on it?
i recently ran seafoam thru the intake and planned on putting a can of it in the crankcase right before the oil change to help clean that all up.

i switched my 97 GT over at 88K and it ran like a champ until the day i sold it w/ 130K on the clock. from what i heard, it was still running like a beast until the dumbass who bought it from me wrapped it around a pole
