Have to be done to go along with a gear ratio change from stock to 4.10's for a 2002 5-Speed GT... thanks (ie... speedcal, what else)

what's the best/easiest speed cal for the job? Does this void warranty? how much for gears, speed cal, installation... thanks

Because I am looking at Ford Racing and it has Installation Kis (3 types) and then 23 Tooth Speedo Gear and Friction Modifier?

does void warranty if they KNOW

also ford can do it for ya, and under warranty...but it'll cost ya double

what do u guys feel about 3.90's? sounds like a nice blend between the 4.10's and 3.73's?

u don't need speedo gear for an 02. just speedcal or chip. u prob. don't need an install kit either, i didn't on my 01; but depends alot on installer too i guess. i've never seen 3.90s in action, but i love my 4.10s. no matter which one u get, u will not believe the difference it makes.

you don't need, but you may want some control arms and sticky tires to help you use those new gears to their full potential.

So you think itd be alright to save the $40 on the installation kit?

i bought it & when i came back to pick up my car, it was still there, unopened. guy said he didn't need it. he built a 351 stroker with a vtech by himself, so i did not question him. so ???

since your car is still relatively new, the seals and gaskets could be reused but he probably had some extra shims (if he needed them, sometimes it lines up) and a crush sleeve laying around, thats probably why he didn't use the install kit.
