What part of your car do you hate working on the most?

Its Friday, I have nothing better to do, and I was thinking about this the other day.

What part of your Fox do you hate working on the most, or what seems to be the most difficult/annoying?

I'll go first.

I'm gonna say the rearmost spark plug and header bolt on the driver side. I pulled the headers last weekend and damn, I forgot how much it sucks to try and torque those things back in. Too many cables/hoses/master cylinder/brake booster in the way. It sucks.

I hate it all, I'd rather be driving.

its funny. throwing on upgrades if fun all day long, but if I have to pop a valve cover to adjust a rocker or go elbow deep to swap a sensor it's a major PITA that I dont want to have to make time for.

I would have to say the header bolts. But then my good buddy bought this and i love working on my car now it's so easy thanks to this 2 post blue thing! (thats his coupe we just finished) peace

Heater core... I have to replace mine, but I'm procrastinating till it gets closer to winter. What a PITA!

Pulling the tranny for any reason.
Even though some may say it's not that bad... getting the car high enough in the air, dropping the exhaust, taking out the starter, trying to get to the bell housing bolts, unhooking the shifter linkage (aod), removing the driveshaft and manhandling the heavy pig is a crap job no matter WHO you are!!! Then you get to put it all back together. I hate... (I'm using the word HATE here) absolutely HATE pulling a tranny.
Changing rear gears is my second worst job. The smell of the gear lube and setting them up... UUUGH!
Anything other than those two jobs is a cake walk.

Nothing really on these cars, the cobra started a little header leak last year. Still has it, no interest in doing it.

compared to alot of cars foxes have a ton of space, and are pretty easy to work on

but i vote WIRING, i hate wiring, i'd rather change rearend fluid

Anything under the drivers side dash.

Installing a 93 booster for the 5-lug conv was by far the biggest pain in the....

Once the strut tower was deformed enough, the holes in the firewall elongated, upper intake moved, studs shortened on booster.....all I had to do was crawl under the dash with my feet on the headrest and install the nuts. Tightening them at the rate of an 1/8th of a turn was fun, too.

Yikes. I keep hearing horror stories about this one. I'm getting ready to do a 5-lug myself, so I'm worried about that.

But yea, anything under the dash sucks.

for you maybe...ive been through the original, a original style i got from a friend, and then last week i got a mini one for the 92 up style and i decided to stop working after a few days... i think it was just a defective part...

Same here, and the older I get the more I hate it. Oil changes I can live with since I'm not down there for long. I've never been comfortable laying underneath a car. Even when I'm sure I have the car properly secured on jackstands I can't shake the thought of some freak accident occuring.

1 Any suspension work. Ball joints, control (arms front/rear)

2 any brake work that involves more than just changing pads. (beating rotors, lines etc.)

Basically i hate anything around the wheels!

Do yourself a favor before you start. BUY A 5 POUND SLEDGE HAMMER!

I had to beat the strut tower in 3/4 - 1" over a 7" length. Pretty much goes like this:

1) Beat strut tower
2) Test fit
3) File holes in firewall
4) Test fit
5) Beat strut tower some more
6) Drive to Lowes to buy 5 lb sledge
7) Beat on strut tower with new sledge
8) Test fit (damn its close)
9) File holes in firewall
10) Test fit (crap, now its hitting my upper intake)
11) Loosen upper intake and slide to passenger side
12) Beat strut tower some more
13) Test fit (nope)
14) shorten studs on booster
15) Pound strut tower into submission (at this point, the neighbors will be outside give you funny looks)
16) File holes again because you tired of testing fitting and are now questioning why you ever wanted to go to 5 lug.
17) Finally it fits.
18) Stick head underneath dash with seat piercing into lower back for 30 minutes while you tighten each nut 1/8th turn at a time. (my back hurt for days after this one.....)

I can't remember the year, but the strut tower/firewall area was made a little larger to fit the 93 cobra booster. I think it was 92.....

All in all, def worth it. The power of the 13" brake setup is very addictive.
