WHAT POWER PROGRAMMER (CHIP) WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

I just had 3.73 gears installed in my 02 GT so now my MPH is off anywhere from 5-15 depending on how fast I'm going. I didn't want to spend another 100 just for a speedcal. I figured I would go ahead and put that 100 toward a programmer (chip). Could someone please recommend a good programmer. My only mods are gears, KN cold air intake, flowmaster (dumped). I do plan on underdrive pulleys in the next couple of weeks and maybe a prochamber. Should I wait to on the programmer until these other mods are installed or does it matter? I'm not expecting anything crazy out of this mod, just a few horses. Does anyone have any dyno numbers after reprogramming. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

i have a diablo sport and im happy with it you can recalibrate your speedo like you said and once you get that prochamber or whatever o/r mid pipe you can turn the O2 sensors off with it i really like mine because after cams i had to get the car tuned and the diablo sport allows you to do that with a wideband you can also bump up the spark advance, raise rev limiter, take off speed governer, and turn off traction control for good and if your car is an auto you can do alot more with it ive also heard that a SCT tuner is good but ive got diablo sport and i really like it

either Diablo Predator or SCT XcalII are good coices, and both have alot of end-user programability(timing/fuel compensation, gear compensation, adjustable shift points/pressures for autos, etc).

seeing both in action, i really think theyre equally as good. id go with whatever one you can get at a cheaper price.

I'd suggest whichever you have a LOCAL good tuner for. In my case it was an xcal2.

I agree with this, just be cautioned though that the tuning software for the xcal2 can be had for little money and all of a sudden there are SCT xcal2 tuners everywhere.

Just make sure whoever you get a mailorder tune from (if that's the route you have to take) has lots of experience doing so. The best is if you can find a local tuner to actually Dyno your Mustang for the proper tune as mentioned.

I know MPH and RWTD are 2 that are very experienced and can send you the tuner with a good program already installed.

The SCT is the going one right now but one thing I like about the Predator over it is, if for whatever reason, you decide to sell it, you just can't put the stock tune back in your car and someone else can use it.

Thanks a lot for everyone's input. I do have a local performance that does custom tuning, so that is probaly the route I'll will go. Should I wait until the underdrive pulleys, prochamber, and timing adjuster or installed? What kind of HP gain should I expect from a tune? Thanks again.

I would wait until you get all the things done before the tune if you are not having any issues with how your Mustang runs now.

My Son's GT had a Dyno tune and picked up a only few peak HP/TQ but through the middle picked up an addition 12 HP!

If you are getting it tuned, don't put a timing adjuster on it.

I'm also thinking about the SCT, but have been worried about it since I'm pretty much learning as I go with this car. Is it pretty straightforward for an idiot (as far as the car is concerned, anyway), or am I going to screw my car up?
