I have a 1995 gt. I bought it with no emissions on it what so ever, has an egr delete plate, and the guy tossed the egr in teh trash. So now I have a check engine light, Has anyone ever tried to put a resistor in place of the old egr to trick it into thinkging its still there? If so what one did you use thanks

Usually what people do is take the sensor off of the EGR valve, and when you do you'll see a plunger on it. They will use something to hold it down 1/2 way and the CE light doesn't come back on.

Only other way I know is by getting the car tuned and turning it off.

there was a guy on here or on ebay that sold a device that would plug into the harness and it would turn off the check engine light , he was only selling them for like $15-20. let me know when you figure it out peace

you should look for a new/used egr. even with the plunger secure and no cel my car still ran like poo and my gas milage decreased

Don't get the ebay kit for 10-15$ (it is tempting) I THINK I still have the plans at home to delete the EGR with a resistor. To get all the parts from radio shack to DIY couldn't be more then 3$. I'll have to post up when I'm at home...Try doing a search on corral or here.

You must have had other issues or been one of the few that has problems with the egr off. Never had an issues other then the CEL coming on sometimes because of it myself.

Thats cause you got a Cobra and legalize has a GT.

I'd be willing to bet the fuel and spark table differences alone are enough to make things different between them when trying to doing away with the egr.

I'd just run the egr as in doesn't hurt wot performance and helps mid load driving conditions among other things.
