I just bought an 86 GT. It has a 5.0 and tranny out of a 94 Highway Patrol car. The shifter in it does not like to go into 3rd. I am looking to get a new one but have no clue what I should be looking for. Is the Steeda shifter any good? Or should I go with a B&M? I have only had AODs in the past so this is all new to me.

You cant go wrong with the pro 5.0 or the steed tri ax.they both feel pretty stout.i have also run a hurst but it got kinds sloppy with age i have been beating on my tri ax and pro 5.0 for years now still feel pretty good.

Thanks, I like the Steeda's look over the B&M.

It may not be the shifter that is your problem getting in to third...

I have drove the pro 5.0, tri-ax, mgw, b&m...

Pro 5.0 is my choice, I like the "straight" design...and I seemed to shift quicker with the straighter design. No angles to worry about, just put it in
