What should I run?

I just dropped my car off to have my 4.10's installed in the morning. I'll be going to visit my best friend in Cincinatti in the near future for vacation. He is trying to buy a mustang soon and we are planning on taking our cars to a nearby track when I go up there. I'm wondering what my car IS CAPABLE of running in the 1/4 after my gears are installed. I'm not asking because I want to bench race, but more because I want to see how good (or bad) of a driver I am my first time at the track. I just want to know how close I can come to running what my car should be able to run. I'm thinking my car should be capable of say...a 13.4? But I'll probably run...a 14.0 What do you guys think?

Oh, and I'm on stock rims with crap tires...

Last weekend, I raced a '00 vert with Patiot cams and a little bit of headwork, LT headers, prof product upper plenum, 75mm tb, 4.10's, and 315/35/17 sumitumo tires. He ran a 13.45 @ 104.33 with a 2.02 60ft. He claimed to have 310 rwhp, but i would guess him to be closer to 280-290. EDIT: He was running 14.0x-14.2x's all night, then he dropped his tire pressure to 25lbs. and ripped off the 13.45.

If you are a really good driver, I think you can run a low 13. Maybe 13.3x's if you launch really well. I would think that a 13.5x is very acheivable! I think you will trap somewhere in the 101-104 range. Good luck!

Good lord, He had cams, some headwork, 4.10's, AND all that other **** and the best he could trap is 104mph. Thats just downright crappy driving to say the least. OH well...

You should be able to pull off a nice 13.2 if you are lucky with good track prep and with some practice. Good luck

The DA was pretty high that night. Not a real good excuse, I know. I thought he would have ran better myself.

Thanks guys. Feels pretty good to know that my car is capable of low 13's. Now with some practice and a couple more mods (like tires), 12's should be right around the corner...

Just go out there and worry about the first 60' of the track and that'll be best. The launch is where its at

Screw it up---get a bad time
launch decently---get a decent time
though nail it and you'll get a great time sig worthy

I'd say we'll most likely go to Edgewater, since it will be the closest.
