I was at the drag strip this past weekend and I was telling a guy i wanted a 3.73 gear in my car to wake the AOD tranny up. He asked what i had now and i said the stock 2.73 , I knew Ford put 2.73, 3.08, and 3.27 in the cars and I thought the AOD's came with this gear. But i told him my RPM's and he seems to think i have something else, what do yall think? Sorry for the long thread.

Running 75 mph @ 1800 rpm with aod tranny what size gear do i have?

being an auto you probably have 3.08 or 3.27. if you really want to know, jack the back end off the ground, put the tranny in neutral, rotate the rear tire 1 revolution and count how many revolutions for the driveshaft. Mine went around 2 3/4 times so I had a 2.73. Now it goes around 3 3/4 times

Check your door tag axel code letter or number that is on the inside driver side door jam.

8 or M = 2.73's
Y or Z = 3.08's
5 or E = 3.27's
