What size throttle body?

Hello all,

I was wondering what size throttle body to get for my '89 Mustang GT. The motor is basically stock, except for BBK Shorty Headers. Also, what kinda intake should I get? Last question, PRO 5.0 or Hurst?

65mm.
depends on what else you have planned, but a cobra is a good start.

65 is good with stock stangs and modified too. There is a certain point where you'll have to go bigger but you're far from it. 65 will do you good. Cobra intake will be great too.

Spend you money on the intake first, or pm tmoss on the site about porting your stock lower. It's a bigger bottleneck than the stock throttle body is.

just get a 70 mm, that way when u get a new intake later u wont have to spend another $150 to $200 on a new one, there may not be as much performance with the stock engine, but like i said when u do its less money u have to spend.

accufab 65 or 70mm would be perfect dependin on what you have planned. I love my Tr-ax

I was happy with my hurst shifter at first. But when I get in other cars and feel their pro 5.0 or tri ax, it makes my shifter feel sorta stock.

I agree with Michael Yount, you do not need a bigger TB with stock intake tract. Save money for the intake and then get one. 65MM max unless you have some serious cubic inches. That will keep your low end torque. If you put on a 65 or 70 you will lose some low end. Bigger is not always better!

The pro50 is an excellent unit. Never misses. I also have several friends running the Steeda unit and 1 has changed back to Pro50 and the otherts love the Triax. it is all personal preference as both pieces serve the same purpose and serve it well.
