What tape do I use for the Grille Delete?

I bought a grill delete kit, and the replacement part doesn't fit flush with my bumper. I plan on using the "foam tape" that comes with some kits, but didn't come with mine. I don't feel comfortable removing my headlights to bolt the panel to my bumper so here I am.

I did not use any kind of tape or whatsoever for my grill delet install. And I don't remeber the instaructions specifying the use of any tape. What are you guys talking about? My grill delete kit looks great and tight.

there are two types I believe, one bolts to the bumper cover the other uses double sided foam tape instead. If done right both look great but the tape method you have to be a little more patient.

The kit is the same but it's easier to tape it down than rebolt it (you have to mod the bolts or something too)

I used 3M outdoors double sided foam tape, red color. 1+ year through a harsh winter without a problem.

Both grills are the same, it's just that some come with tape on the bottom to help it stick. You can screw it down or use the tape.

I used the tape on mine. It's been holding great through a hot summer and rainy fall

Actually removing the headlights couldn't be simplier. You just pull the two (on each headlight) headlight retaining clips on the back of each headlight. Then the whole headlight assembly simply comes right out...just disconn the electrical connects to the headlight and the side marker. I was amazed how simple this really is. It goes back together the same way.
