My roommate borrowed my car saturday night and hit a curb while making a u-turn i guess and well now my wheel is all crooked. what do you think got bent? i took off the wheel and didnt noticed anything obvious. Also I just put springs on the front saturday morning, do you think i might have missed something putting them in and thats why its so crooked? or do you think it happened when he hit the curb? what do you think is bent? here are some pics of what it looks like

never saw anything like that from just brushing a curb on a uturn. But i would say ur control arms are bent. I dont think springs could have anything to do with it looking like that. But i maybe be wrong. Take the wheel off again and look to see that things arent slightly bowed in the middle.

no my mustang, but i hit a curb with my mazda protege and it looked like that. I bent the lower control arm and the rim. The rim didn;t look bad, but after i fixed the control arm i put it back on and it was sooo bad it wasn't funny.
I think the contol arm is bent.

U-turn my ass.. i bet he spun it out beating on YOUR car! Looks like your rim is hooped, the ground effect and some major suspension part! Make him pay for it!

yeah- I spun mine out on a wet road and my turbine wheels looked exactly like that. SH**! he must have been going pretty fast cause I hit the curb sideways at about 25 and it onlt bent my rim a little bit. I wanted new wheels any way--that just gave me an excuse! (and taught me to be careful on slippery roads)

I bet is is a mixture of the rim and lower control arm. But I would have somebody that really really knows suspention take a look at it before i drive it at all

I'm calling BS on your roomate. Who makes a right-handed U-turn? or does he claim the outside wheel hit something? Either way check, strut, strut tower, control arm, spindle and tie rods.

Hardman - it's the right front that's screwed up; that's the wheel that would hit the curb on a left-hand u-turn.

Bleeatch - you need to haul your car and your roomate to a frontend/alignment shop asap. Something is major wrong. It's out of alignment because something BIG is bent, and of course the wheel is shot. Have a tire specialist take a close look at the tire too. Not uncommon for an impact that hard (and he/she hit something VERY hard) to separate belts inside the tire too - irreparable. If that's the case the tire has to be replaced as well. You could very easily have $1000 worth of damage here. I'd have your roomate contact his insurance company asap.

I work at a body shop and thats what usuall happens when are car pegs into something at 20+ mph. Looks like a knuckle and a tie rod. And also the bearings could be gone too. Best thing to do is replace the whole thing. And get your roomate to buy you some SN95 spindles.

No little curb clip would do that, thats for sure. He hit something good and hard to cause damage like that. I'm with most everyone else in this, get the car and the roommate to a suspension shop and get a pro to explain exactly whats wrong and get your roommate to pay for it.

As said before, dont drive it.

Darkhorse845 - Accidents to happen but when they happen when your using something that doesnt belong to you, your responsible. Thats a risk you take when you borrow something from someone.

Amen brotha. I say take it into a shop, let them fix it... Give your roommate the bill. That will teach him not to be a dumbass with other people's cars.

I hope you learned a bit from this too

Yeah that was not a curb hit from a U-turn that caused that. There have been 2 times that I have hit a curb pretty hard and (luckily) it didn't do anything at all to the rim or the alignment.
