What the???!!!Need help!

Ok, I just bought this super clean 88 Bird from an older airline pilot with way too much money and a "bolt on" mechanic. I got it with all the things listed already installed, but it was'nt running right. I have since opened up the single factory cat into dual Flowies, replaced the upper and lower intake gaskets,(huge vac leak)done a complete tune up w/plug wires and fuel filter, prof. injector cleaning, ect... still had a wandering idle, would pop in the intake on excelleration, and die when in neutral or in park but not in gear! I then tried the idle reset, and a few other things and it's better. Now it cranks over without starting unless I tap the gas and then hold it after starts cuz it won't idle on it's own untill I rap it a few times. Then it idles, but very roughly wanting to die! Once I drive around, all is good, untill I stay at a light for more than 30 seconds then it starts to get rough again, almost like its loading up. If I shut it off while it's running great, and then restart it right away it goes though the whole thing again, so I know it has nothing to do with temp. What do you guys think? I'm about to blow it up!!!Please help, thanks.
