I have a bad miss, that will come and go. Sometimes it will just misfire a bit then go back to normal. Sometimes it will miss so bad that it slows me down. I can't touch the gas.
I pulled the plugs, and I'm running lean, at least thats how it looks. #1 cylinder had a little tan, and #2 was dead white with black specks. That's all I checked.
So I did a test by unplugging the MAF and it ran SO MUCH better.
So most likely the MAF is dirty, but mine has a screen on the front of it. How do I get that off? And what is the best to clean it off with?
Or am I better off getting a C&L for $125 from Summit?
Also, any other suggestions about how it is running?

If you unplugged your maf and the car ran better, itz because your Maf is probably burnt out. Not to many people have good luck with their C+L Meters. I would get your maf re-caled and see where u stand. Your timing could be off, as well as fuel pressure, These are some things you may want to look into.

Timing at 14*, set on a new balancer.
Fuel pressure at 38# with the line off and plugged.
And it is a stock meter.
Can I pull that screen out and clean the wires? Or should I just get a replacement from the auto parts store.

You could try getting a replacement, although I dont have any experience with stock meters. carb(edit) cleaner is recommended when cleaning them. stock 19 injectors?
