I live in RI and always made a practice of swapping out the rugs for the factory rubber versions for the winter months, even though I don't drive it alot in the winter. The factory rubber mats are real cheesy & started to fall apart after two seasons. I just ordered a set of ALL-AMERICAN made Weathertech mats for front only & will install them today, once I vaccuum the summer sand out.
Forget the Ford mats.
Funny, Weathertech floor mats were actually the very first thing I put in my car when I got it. I made the mistake of going with their cheaper set, the ones that aren't laser scanned/matched to the specific car, and they promptly went back the next day. The cheaper ones are very thick, unsecured, they flop around like crazy and the bottoms of my shoes were constantly catching up on them causing them to curl.
The digital fit floorliners however, have been a dream. Perfect fit, rugged, clean appearance and perfect function. You can take them out and hit them with a hose and a paper towel and be done with them in a second.
Another thing that mattered to me, the big red WeatherTech emblem can easily be peeled off clean. I hate excess labels on everything and I think it looks much much cleaner without them.

I don't know what iteration of Weathertech mats you have, but the ones I got--and they let you buy front only---are thick black rubber & perfectly fitted to conform to the floorboards, w/two cutouts for the rear anchors which you have to trim-out w/an exacto knife and there is NO label of any kind
I bought them in March of this year. They're not rubber, but a flexible black plastic. They do clip in to the anchor points and they do come with the hideous badge applied.
