This is the 68 styled steel wheel. It was available with a chrome center, argent center, or reflective argent center.

The Magnum 500 was offered on the 66 GT350, the 69-70 BOSS, and 71-72 Mustang only. The 69 Mustang and mach1 used the same wheel as 68. In 1970, the wheel changed to a 5-hole design, but used the same hubcap.

Be careful. Many aftermarket wheels, such as AR and Cragar are offset farther out than stock. This tends to crack the shock towers. That's a VERY expensive repair.

You can run the Magnum 500 or the chrome styled steel wheel for 67. These are my favorite wheels for classic Mustangs. I agree, the 68 wheel was never my style, but it still looks good.

I have Magnum 500 wheels on my 65 and wouldn't have it any other way.

The "Arning" or "Shelby" drop really won't effect whether it cracks, just make sure you get wheels that fit properly. Magnum 500 wheels will fit.

Are you talking about backspace when you mention offset? If so what is max backspace to prevent possible cracking.

I am attempting to learn more on backspaicng.

Backspace is the amount of space between the mounting surface and the inner edge of the wheel. Offset is where the mounting surface is relative to the in-out center of the wheel.
