300ftlbs is impressive for only a 4l thats still more than our cars made stock
Indeed. I'd be much more impressed with the BMW power figures if they weren't down 100lbs/ft plus torque over the new Ford or Chevy powerplants.
The impressive thing about the 5.0L TiVCT compared to the 6.2L LS3 is that both horsepower and torque figures are nearly identical between the two engines, yet the difference in displacement is so drastic.
So I guess in fact that it does mean there's a replacement for displacement....its apparently variable cam timing, combined with the best designed heads and intake combination to grace a modern North American V8 in the last 30-years.
It actually matches what the 5.0L OHV made for stock torque, but I see where you're going with it. It certainly is impressive for a 4.0L. So it makes it even more impressive then when the new 3.7L V6 in the base mustang is nearly matching those torque figures as well, with two less cylinders to carry the workload.![]()
