I would like to know what you would have paid for this car I picked up 2 days ago:

1968 Ford Mustang GT Coupe 289 Auto

needs body work for rust and poor previous paint job and body repair

new seats, dash, rugs, digital gauges// but needs headliner and rear seatbelts.

4 year old rebuild on original 289 bored over to 302 cubic inches with addition of edelbrock 4V carb and Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold

Good frame, bad floors (one side has new floors), good rear, u joint, suspension, C4 tranny, but needs power steering parts replaced.

No heater at all.

Starts right up. Sounds amazing with the side pipes and cherry bombs. Runs real strong...

Engine bay is rust free, fender aprins and splash shields are new, nice GT rims, fender badges and Gas Cap

needs all new weatherstriping (most were included with car at purchase)

Opinions please...:hail2:

I'll have to go with the lady (and not just because of her avatar). Rust is the big question. I don't envy you guys at all that live East of the Rockies.... rust on unibodies is just plain nasty! Was once offered ("I'll sign the title; just take it away") a '66 FB that spent most of its life in Illinois. Much as I was drooling over it; common sense kicked in and made me realize that the roof and the ratty old carpet were the only things keeping the car in one piece! :nonono:

Somebody else gave the guy $500 and then realized the job he took on. Just barely got his money back by parting it out.
