A local guy at my college is selling his mustang, but is willing to sell me his 18x9/10" black bullitts with Kumho 265 up front and 295s out back. These are the rims Ive been wanting to buy for quite a while. He said he paid $1600 for everything new; $700 rims, $900 tires. Tires are 6 months old and rims Im not sure about, but they look* to be in good shape. I could get the entire package NEW with Sumitomo tires mounted and balanced from Mustangtuning for $1250 shipped. I've got a figure in mind but Im curious what you crazy bastards think. Something tells me he wants upwards of $1200 for them, which of course I wont do bc of the MT.com deal.

And I doubt he'll take Tree-Fittay

900 for the tires seems a bit much, seeing as how I'm getting KDW-2's shipped to Hawaii from Tire Rack for a bit over 900.

700 for the rims sounds about right. What shape (cosmetically) are they in?

How much meat left on the tires?

I say offer him 1k. The MT package is cheap because Sumitomos suck.

The tires have about 3k on them, but the wear rating is only 220. Rims he said are in good shape, with a little normal wear and tear but no curb rash, scratches, dents, etc. I havent been able to give them a good once over, and I wont give him any money until I do. Right now we're just going over figures.

Sumitomos do suck, but I've pulled a 2.0 60' with their all-season tires on a cold track, so I dont think the HTR II's are gonna be any worse. I'll be getting KDW's when my finances allow, but right now $230/tire is a bit too much.

EDIT: I can get the rims Brand New for $585 shipped from MT.com, or $628 with the Running Pony centercaps and chrome locking lug nuts off of Ebay. Then I could just save up for the KDW's.

If he will take tree fitty for them you better make sure he's not actually the loch ness monster in a costume.

I'd say offer $900. When he says no way. Tell him the prices on the brand new ones and then say ok $1000.

No more than 1k. 6 month old tires, it'd be worth at least the extra 200-250 bucks for new tires and what you know will be brand new looking rims. Tell him the rims might still have some good value, but tires lose their value quick. Get him to measure the tread.

I'd shoot him a bit of an unreasonable low ball figure. After he says no, then offer a little more and just keep doing that until he gives

I need to message him about those LT's

thats what I was thinking too boss. If he doesnt sell them to me, I dont think theres anyone else around here that woud buy them for more than Im willing to. I know all the mustang people around here. If he sells them on Ebay he has to deal with shipping which is $$$$$ for rims and tires.

$800 was gonna be my first offer. If he acted like it wasnt even close, then I'd say $850 and thats as high as I'll go. The tires only have a wear rating of 220 and they're used. Hell I ended up selling 2 brand new tires for $50 less than I paid for them.

I can get the same rims WITH TIRES off of Ebay mounted and balanced for a little more than $1100 shipped, brand new. Now, the tires are the cheapo Nexens, but they have better spec ratings than those Kumhos, and they're new while his are used. I mean, I dont want cheap 2nd rate tires, but if Im negotiating a deal......

yeah I agree. Its used merchandise so Im not gonna break the bank for them. It just seems like the guys expecting to get close to what he paid for everything, which isnt gonna happen. Tires are used and have a piss poor wear rating. As much as I drive with the new job I'll be lucky if they last through the end of the year.

Im gonna offer $800 but let him know thats as high as I'll go. He'll probably say no, but then I can just order the rims new and save for some BFG KDW2's. If he tries selling them on Ebay, he'll be lucky to get $700 for them.
