MAC O/R H-pipe. Look at my video first part of the video is with just the flowmaster American Thundercatback second part of the video is with the addition of the MAC O/R H-pipe.

H pipe will give you the classic deep sound and the X pipe will give you a smoother, racier sound.

It's all opinions, but I prefer the X with flows and thats why I switched. But beware - there are certain brands of X pipes that have a different junction design and therefore people complain about rasp. Some poeple think the Bassani X doesn't sound good with Flows. (although I think it sounds fine) And then you have Dr. Gas which I think has the BEST sound period with Flows.

I've always liked X pipes over Hs. Most people dont like the sound of Xs with flows, so keep with an H. If you want it loud go w/ an offroad H.

Dr. Gas!!!!

But, mine is a real PITA to bolt on, and I didn't feel like dealing with it anymore...(it was used, long story....)

So there's a new, shiny Mac O/R H pipe in my garage waiting for my mustang to get back from tranny tsb work.

Magnaflow and SLP use the same junction design as dr gas and the others you listed...and sound VERY similar ...it's bassani and bbk that use a different x design and might sound raspy with flows

X-Pipe all the way, Dr. Gas is supposed to be the absolute best. It will sound very very close to an H-Pipe until around 2300 RPM, then it gets very smooth until around 4000 RPM and after that is what everyone talks about, it turns into a really loud high-pitched howl that is supposed to sound absolutely crazy and nascar like. So you get the deep muscle car tone down low and the smooth sound at highway speeds (less drone than an H-Pipe) plus that cool sound over 4k.

Mustangtuning and UPR make very good ones for much less too if your on a tight budget.

well said ...That's what I love about my X ...deep tone, but when you get up to higher rpms it screams with a hollow/smooth sound ...you kinda need to hear it first hand to appreciate it. X pipe is the way to go.

Anybody know any place to find some dyno graphs of exhaust, like difference between certain X and H-pipe. I've seen dyno graphs for most of the catbacks but havent seen any for most of the mid pipes.

Well I have the SLP full assembly X-Pipe w/cats and a set of flow's. Sounds great and I get a lot of eye catchers and compliments. But like everyone says to each his own.
