What's a Good Cleaner For Blackwalls?

I've have a hard time getting my tires to come clean. They've had a brown color since new and I just can't get rid of it. Anyone know of any good, safe clears that work well?

+1 does no good to put tire dressing on a tire thats dirty.

I'm not looking for a tire shine. I'm needing a spray cleaner or something that I can use when I wash my car. I use a tire brush, but the soap I use doesn't clean up the sidewalls.

Dude, I just used some Eagle 1 Wheel & Tire 2in1, well it sucks for the wheels, but it is the best tire cleaner I have ever used. I sprayed it on, and it foams up white, then immediately turns brown/reddish with all the dirt and grime it removes from the tires.

The only reason I say it sucks on wheels even though its a tire and wheel cleaner is that it leaves streaks. So from now on I'm going to use something else for the wheels and this stuff for the tires. Really, you should try it, it's crazy!

This may seem weird to use on anything but whitewalls or raised-white-letter tires, but I've found that sometimes that gunk that gets built up on the sidewalls of tires can only be removed with that Westley's Bleche-White stuff. If you use any kind of a tire shine treatment with silicone or whatever in it that attracts stuff like brake dust and whatnot, that stuff (along with a scrub brush, of course) always seems to do a pretty good job of taking it right off. Even using those "all wheel" type cleaners never seems to really get all of the old tire shine stuff or built-up gunk off the tires, but the Bleche-White stuff works pretty dang well, and it's fairly cheap, too.

I usually clean the tires first, then the wheels, then the rest of the car, chamois it all off and use blue paper towels to wipe the wheels and tires dry, then hit it with whatever tire protectant stuff I've got at the moment. That Stoner brand "More Shine" stuff seems to work fairly well and unless you really overdo it, it's not heavy enough to fling off onto your fenders.

no touch is a cleaner not a dressing, and it works just fine.

I've tried the No Touch brand stuff. It works so-so. If you stay on top of the cleaning stuff and you never put anything else on your tires, it's fine. Otherwise, if you get any kind of build-up on it, it doesn't really have enough detergent in it to really pull off the gunk to make it clean, so you wind up glossing over the poop that remains on the tires.

Bleche White is the best. I use it on my white letter tires and the Goodyears on the stang. Best stuff you can buy. Just spray it on the tires and hit them with a tire brush or pressure washer.

+1 on the Bleche White. Its all I use on blackwalls. Spray em down and hit em with a scrub brush real quick and the brown will just melt right off.

Since it looks like you have chrome wheels, I'd give the new Mothers Foaming All Wheel & Tire Cleaner a try. It cleans tires better than A2Z, and it doesn't leave a film when it dries.

I would avoid using it on anything but factory clearcoat or chrome wheels, but it works great on those too.
