Hey guys hows it going, I have a 05 GT and Im wondering what my trade in value is for a dealership. Or what should I expect as a trade in value because there is no kelly blue book for it. But here are some specs its an 05 silver gt manual tranny black leather interior. it has the spoiler and all that doesnt have the interior upgrade package and it has 20" black niche wheels, a custom flowmaster exhaust, k and n air intake, and a short throw shifter, also it only has 9500 miles on it. I was thinking 25k would be my rough trade in value. If anyone could give me a guide so i know what to expect that would be awesome. Im trading it in for a new 05 superduty because I have more of a need for a truck than a car.

Thanks John

Most dealers use N.A.D.A. to value a trade-in. Try their website.

Modifications usually add nothing to the price. They could in fact take away from it. That's just the way it is.
What did you car sticker for new? I doubt seriously you will get that much for a trade in.
You can buy a new GT for not a whole lot more if you take your time and find someone who will sell at sticker or on A plan or X plan.
Maybe your right, but I think you need to be prepared to hear an offer of less.

NADA shows a value of about $23,900 depending on equipment. That's with a manual, leather seats and a shaker sound system.
Frankly I'm surprised that trade-in value is that much.

I think the trade in is high because of the fact that the 05's were very rare and hard to find and you couldnt just get ahold of one. Also because almost everyone was charging a 5k mark up. I also feel that on these particular vehicles they wont take away for aftermarket features because on the mustangs so many dealerships were putting aftermarket parts on themselves. Well well see Im trying to get a truck for 34k and if has a lot of aftermarket features from the dealers and its slightly used so if they give me nothing for mine then ill just throw them the fact that there charging for theres. thanks for your help

That figures. Looks like you're better off selling it on your own. You can probably sell it for around $23-25k with all of the extras you added.

All dealers do not use NADA for trade in's but use

http://galves.com/

It's a wholesale guide and pretty much knocks the hell out of prices for trade in's (ie: dealer offered me about $12,000 for my 03 GT vert with 58,000 miles).

Im not sure what area you are in, but here the 05's with miles in the 10-15k range are bringing $21,000-$22,500

I was at the Ford dealer the other day looking at an 05 Vert (for the wife) and the salesperson told me to look at Kelly Blue Book with the "fair" condition as a starting point for trading. Fair, even if your car is good or excellent. My a$$ . . . The Employee pricing has flooded the used car market and driven the values down the tubes.

I agree with the comment about employee pricing. But that should not affect the Mustang. It was exempted from all of the recent "deals."
