whats the max?

Whats maxx rating of boost your can put on a stock 98 gt motor.....lookin to get a vortech or procharger......dont wana get crazy and have to forge stuff....just run a safe boost and some good power......and what kit would you guys recommend?

+1 (the most infamous tech post) but seriously that is teh limit with out going into the engine

This is true.....but he won't have to worry about seeing 400rwhp at 8-10psi on a '98 GT.

He'll be lucky to crank out 330-350rwhp with the NPI top end.

with an 8lb pulley on a 98 gt with midpipe and catback and anderson powerpipe I have seen 308rwhp. You will be lucky to get anywhere over 320.

the bottom end is capible of 400hp. the top end is not capible of meeting those airflow needs, even when pushed by forced induction. ive seen guys running 14psi on stock 4.6 bottom end and last years, and ive seen some do 8psi and last months.

It'd probably be cost effective to do a PI Cam/Intake swap and THEN boost it, you'd probably see more gains per PSI being as the Intake wouldn't be choking on all that air.
