I just got a 86 coupe that has either 187 or 87k miles and the oil pressure hangs right at the N in Normal on the gauge is that bout right for one of these cars?

Mine was always about halfway up the gauge on the factory gauge...course, the factory gauge doesn't tell you much either.

my factory gage sits right in the middle between high and low

correct oil pressure is very important so i would really look into this

ps are you sure youre looking at the right gage the only gage of mine that says normal anywhere on it is the coolant temp gage

My stock gauge will sometimes say that it is all the way to the end of the little line by the "L" and then it goes low passed the "N".

Mine used to stay at the half or just slightly above-now it stays just below half, but the guage calls this normal. I'm going to see what happens when I change my oil and filter...

I wouldn't trust that factory guage too much. It's only good for telling you if you have oil pressure or not.
