When i disconnect the IAC motor connector when the engine is running the idle doesnt change at all. As far as i know it is suppose to. anyone have this problems before and have any input.

Jritcher's write up on idle checklist is very helpful also just seeing other's input.

honestly try cleaning it really well... then put it back on and if it still doesn't change when it is unplugged.. then you need to replace it..

It all depends upon how the idle is set. As an E.g., I set mine to have zero duty cycle and idle just above the commanded hot idle. If I unplug my IAC on a hot, unloaded motor, there's no change.

However, if you disconnect the IAC while the engine is cold or with a load like A/C on and the idle doesnt decrease, that would raise a red flag.

Good luck.

I have read on some threads to shoot for between .6 and 1.16 but for some reason others have said .6 to .9 .. So I am pretty sure 1.15 is pretty good.. someone go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong.

1.16 should be fine. If it's not, you will get a TPS code. Mine's at 1.19 and it seems to do just fine.

Good luck.
