I have a '93 LX and went to turn on the a/c the other day. It worked fine but now the air only blows out on the floor and windshield. Is there a seperate blower for the vents? Or did a connection come lose? DId I flip a switch some where?
i cant remember on the stangs - some cars use a vacuum canister to move the vents, others use a cable. i think we use a cable. it might not be working. sometimes a good rap on the ducting will make it move.
also, on some cars, when you go WOT, you lose the a/c through the "in the face" vents. the WOT relay kicks the a/c off, and the flow is diminished.....

You have a vacuum leak in the HVAC system. Check the vac line that runs accross the firewall (in the engine bay) and connects to a vacuum tree right beside your passenger side hood hinge on the firewall.
When you have a vac leak in the HVAC system, it resorts to it's default position which is defrost, and those are the windshield and floor vents.
The most common cause I've seen is the yellow (?) hose that runs behind the dash, from the HVAC controls to the gold canister on the driver's side. It can come loose if you have changed the radio or been messing around under the dash.
