I have seen people fill a t-5 in the shifter opening and take out the upper fill bolt to see when it is full, is this a good idea or is it better to fill it in the side bolt hole.. The new b&m pro ripper shifter have a plug on the base you can take I guess to fill the tranny.

Both ways work... I like to used a bit of garden hose routed up through the firewall to pour my fluid in through the full / check plug.

I am going to try the shifter method, I am a loner always stuck working alone so I need the easiest way, good thing t-5's are light and easy enough for one person to shove up in place. Thanks for the help, stangnet is the best..

I use Steve's method. You do have to bend down as you get close so you can see if fluid is starting to ooze out of the filler plug.

I suppose we should give the ubiquitious warning to make sure the filler plug comes out before one drains the fluid.
Even if one uses the shifter method, having the fill plug out allows one to know when to stop pouring through the shifter.

I thought they hold 2.8 quarts or like 2.6 litres.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
