Thinking about going all out though as ina 351 block and getting it to a 390. just wondering where i can get the block, just the block and how much is it? or what brands and what not. just trying to do some research here thats all thanks

Look for a 69-74 block if you're going to junkyards. Those are the strongest production 351 blocks. You'll probably have to convert the block to a roller block if you want to use a newer hydraulic roller cam. The one that I rebuilt came out of a 74 Full Size Van. I just did a .030 bore which is a 357, but you can also do a 393 or 408. There are many more options for cubic inches if you get something like a Dart block, but that's....$$$$$.

If you really want to go hardcore, Dart sells 351 based windsor blocks. They are good for up to like mid 400 cubes. I don't think you'll want to see the price, though.
