Ive fixed two so far and painted them. Theres a spring inside of it that holds the contacts down when you unlatch the map light. You have to drill the fasteners and put a spacer in there to increase the spring pressure. Then clamp it down and JB weld it. Also the screws must go all the way in to the roof. They complete the circuit. Good luck.
Speaking of map lights does anyone know what the number of bulb they take. I lost the bulb in mine along time ago, and when I asked ford they couldn't tell me exactly without having another bulb. I think he just did what to look it up!
