I have a 98 gt block...did the pi headswap/intake swap, and the original alternator. However, the original alternator bracket doesn't mount up on top of the alternator, under the wires....is there one I can put there?

Thanks!

won't work on a pre-99 car as they have only 1 bolt on top and 1999 up have 2, unless you mod it. or you could get the correct alt brkts but there are 2, 1 for the all plastic intake and 1 for the improved aluminum cross-over intake

Yeah, but he said he did the PI intake swap, so he would have the improved intake w/ aluminum crossover, hence needs the newer alternator bracket.

The part number is 1R3Z-10153-AA

1R3Z-10153-AA does not have the correct bolt holes for a 1998 on back alt. 1999 up have 2 bolts to bolt down on the alt at the top to the brkt and 1998 back only have 1 bolt and 1 bolt hole, so for a pre 1999 the correct alt brkt part # is F8AZ-10153-EA for the intake wth the aluminum cross-over. if its a 1999 up intake and a 1999 up alt, then the 1R3Z-10153-AA would be the correct brkt part #. now if the intake is still an ALL plastic version, it takes another/different part #

Cool, I misunderstood the application for the part # I had. Thanks for clarifying.

Knew it Now that this thread has been resolved, can you check my thread under 4.6L Tech re my headswap kit from parkway that was damaged? Could use a couple more opinions

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=630885

if that's not thread hijacking, I don't know what is...

Randy, Please help again....I am trying to figure what year my fuse box cover is under the hood (to get a chrome cover for one)...I don't know if it is a 97 or a 98....are there different part numbers for each? My car is a 97 v6 body with a 98 gt engine...
