Will a '66 C4 bolt up to an '85 351W? If not, what do I need to do without spending a lot of money on a new transmission?

You just have to match the flexplate to the bellhousing

I don't remember, you just have to make sure the flex is the right diameter for the bellhousing so the starter will engage. The windsors generally came with the larger setup and the 289's came with the small ones. At least from my experience. But you can uyse either setup.

I think the C-4 has a seperate bell housing , doesn't it? So the tranny wont matter just the housing.
