Im getting ready to put my stock shortblock back together and im wondering what cam would be good to go with? im keeping stock e7s for a little bit...... would the x 303 be a good choice or a TFS stage 1? thanks guys
i would run the tfs 1 cam, b/c its a all around better cam i have ran the x cam and the tfs out of 5 people only 1 of them runs a differnt cam for a mostley stock car that cam will make u ahppy and if you are running the stock pistons you can even get away witha nice set of 1.7 roller rockers. tfs 1 cam is going to be your best choice.
if u want to talk to sombody who has the tfs1 cam and 1.7 rr on his car go talk to dragnazz5.0 on here he can tell you more about it i am putting it in my 306 with aluminom heads and cobra intake and what have not.
Personally I would keep your stock cam in too. If your heads have some miles on them then you will probably have to switch out your valve springs with anything other than a stock cam.. I know a lot of people with stock heads and springs would float the valves with the E cam. The X is way to much cam for your set up, if your looking at a letter cam the E would be plenty. Remember there is a lot more to chooseing a cam than lift and duration and bigger is NOT always better. And with stock heads the stock cam is a nice match.
i agree but the tfs 1 cam is a good allaround cam if you change springs the tfs springs are a good choice allso. but for stock heads and intake the tfs cam isnt bad, its alot better then a fms cam by far.
