One said they can do it for about 300 and another said around 375-400 for dual flowmasters with installation and everything.

Is 300 a little cheap? is 400 a little high? which shop would you guys choose and why? I mean I want it to cost the lowest possible price, but I also want a good installation.

thanks,

300 for everything (meaning mufflers, pipes, labor) all included is a good price. That's about what I paid for my setup. If the guy in the shop can weld and knows how to match up different pipe sizes and get them to fit together then you should be fine.

I had a problem with my shop. This was just a regular garage, not an exhaust shop. Long story short my car ended up in the shop over night because the installer had to go to another metal shop to get a 2.5" to 2.25" reducer pipe fitting custom made because he didn't have anything like that in the shop. Hearing my car had to stay in the shop overnight because of lack of parts really upset me. Lesson learned is make sure the shop has the right parts and tools before you let them start working on your car. Ask lots of questions that would seem obvious to you. Get to talk to the person that's going to do your install to find out if he knows what he's doing or not. Also get a price quote in writing. That way they can't jack up the price of your install after they run into a little difficulty with the installation. Shop around for the best place where you find a good price and know that the shop knows what there doing. Then you can save your self the grief of arguing over your car and being unhappy with the install.

300 Sounds about right to me. Thats what i paid. My Exhaust turned out great and i won't have any complaints, I would recommend alluminized piping or a corrosive inhibited metal of some sorts. I got that with stainless chrome tips and everything for 300, so shop around like zoopa_man said.

SWEET you guys, but one more question. They both gave me the price of installation on a complete flowmaster system. The flowmaster systems up at summit racing go for about 280.00 and on some sites around the web they even go for 350 just for the parts.

I guess my question is: how can an exhaust shop offer me installation and everything for 300 bucks? Do they get some kind of a good deal or do they just not profit from the parts and only profit on the labor. That still wouldn't be much money on the labor though

Just an update: I went ahead and ordered my exhaust at the place in medina. I just got back from talking with him, he really new his stuff. He wen't into detail!

The other guy that quoted me 300 out the door didn't know much. He was just like, I'll order the regular flomaster and put it on, it should sound pretty nice.

Anywase, this is what I'm getting:
New GT exhaust pipes
2 flowmaster force II mufflers
2 3.5 inch chrome tips ($100)

Tax, installation, parts----436.00.

Did I get an ok deal or a rip? How do you guys think this setup will sound?
