We just changed the crank in my 2000 mustang gt from a 8 bolt to a 6 bolt. which factory flywheel is a 6 bolt flywheel? What year mustang? Thanks

99 and 00 are 8 bolt......96-98/01-04 are 6 unless you got a 01 with a leftover windsor.

but besides the bolt pattern is the size and teeth of the flywheel the same from 96 - 04

because I have a 6 bolt flywheel and crank with a 1999 trans. I guess its a T45

yeah, pretty much all the 01s have the 6 bolt, dont wanna say absolutely cause there can always be a fluke.

I guess I have a fluke then. My 97 GT has an X for the 8th digit in the vin(the engine code) which means it has the 8 bolt windsor. I got this info straight from the Ford Racing website while shopping for flywheels. Look at the bottom of this page:http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=4749
