There's two that I'm considering, one made by AGR and the other made by Cardone. The AGR is about $20 more expensive, so is there anything that extra $20 will really get me?

Thanks
Dave

Vibe would tell you Cardone...but then agan he works for them. I really dunno...still running the original at 140+K mi. Oh, check to see if the Cardone's are new or reman. I know the AGR's are are all new parts. That could be the reason for the price diff.

i bought the agr from summit but the reservoir is different so i had to take the reservoir off of my stock pump and put it on the agr pump. the port for the return line is where the difference is, on the agr its angled so it hits the p/s bracket.

Oh Im pissed, I just recieved my AGR pump and the damn return nipple sure does ram into the mounting bracket. Just got off the phone with Summit, and they said they havent recieved any complaints for this, and told me to call AGR and see what there recomendation is, and if un fixable then have it sent back to Summit

If you have a problem with AGR pumps, please report it, cuase if you dont report it then they wont fix it and many more people will be screwed

Yes, the AGR is new and our units are reman. However we offer a lifetime warranty and AGR does not. Internally there is no difference between the two.

did u actually expect summit to do anything? anybody who has been in this hobby for any time at all should know that most of the time the customer service sucks. just do what i did and switch the reservoirs, unless your stock reservoir is no good. it will take less time to do that than trying to get somebody on the phone who actually cares.

I think I'll go with the Cardone unit. I don't want to have to deal with any fitment issues. Plus it's only going to cost about $50 after core return.

Does anybody know if there's gonna be any problem with me taking in a ps pump thats been painted for core return?

Actually they will do something, they said they will take it back and refund the money to me, they just want me to varify the problem with AGR I do not have my stock Power Steering pump anymore, therefore cannot switch the reservoirs. Besides, even if I had the stock pump, I didnt spend $120.00 on a new item, just so I can go and switch half of it out with old stuff.

u didn't have to call summit to confirm a refund, they always do as long as u fill out the stupid return slip. are they gonna pay for the return shipping? thats what u should have asked them, it will probably cost at least $10 to ship it back. its a shame because agr claims that pump fits up to 97 ford vehicles so even though it doesn't fit on our cars it may fit on a piece of sh-t taurus or something like that. switching the reservoir wasn't that big of a deal, i just cleaned and painted it and it was good as new and i knew it was the right one for the car. the pump is really what matters.

Autozone is where I'm gonna get mine. Cardone's headquarters is basically right down the street from me, but I'm sure all Autozones carry their stuff.

I don't think AZ carry's our pumps. I'm not into retail so I'm not 100% on that (call first). Trying to think what's up in the North East. RS Stauss, NAPA and just about all the Mom and Pop Auto Part stores do.

Part numbers is a 20-7270.

PSU,
We are located right off the Boulevard and Rising Sun. We bought the 4 million square foot Sears building. I'm sure you know where it is.

The autozone website says they carry it (same PN too), if not I'll just go to NAPA or find someother place. Wasn't Cardone on 2nd Street? I interviewed with them over the phone right before I graudated and I thought I remembered them being on 2nd Street.

We have a few plants all over the area. Amercian St., 2nd St., Rising Sun, Whitaker Ave.

It's been awhile since I've been in retail so I wans't sure about AZ having it. Keep in mind it may be a competitor of ours which use our part numbering system. The box should be white, the label should be a Duralast but in small writing say Cardone Industries.

UPDATE: AGR Power Steering Pump

Well I just got off the phone with AGR, I talked with James in the Tech department ( He was very helpful and curtious), This is a new pump, and they had no Idea that the return nipple ran straight down into the mounting bracket, So I sent them pics via Email, and they were suprised on how it didnt fit, so now they are working on a way to fix it.

Also just got off the phone from Summit, and the gentleman is sending me a pre paid shipping label via email to ship the AGR pump back to them, and to redeposit my money back to my account. Also Summit is placing a tag on the product that will state that it will not work with a 94-95 Bracket.

So, I guess it turned out good after all, and I dont even have to pay for the return shipping

Turbo, what problems were you having that required a new power steering pump? Also, which pump did you go with and do you still have it on the car?

Thanks
