Damnit..how about I just put on a Kenne Bell T-shirt, place Kenne bell Banners on my fence around the driveway. And u just bring your car here for the install...I will install it for you and U can say you had it installed at a kenne bell performance shop.. oh and I can give u a cheaper deal than them also. and then we can take teh car up to Perofrmance-Dyno in Concord, NH and tune the darn thing.

ok, well what is my best bet to get high hp gains, w/out spending so much. Right now the enigne is bare stock.

are you auto or manual?

IMO I see 2 main options

1. Blow most of that 3k on bolt ons and see some gains reasonble gains

2. Continue saving and get a blower (Kennebell or Procharger are probably the best bet, both offer slightly different solutions to the same problem. So it will come down to personal preferance)

If you go with option 2, all I'd do is get a nice cat back (for the sound mainly) and change the rear final drive ratio (commonly known as 'gears'), 3.73 is a good bet although 4.10 maybe be even better with a Procharger, but likely OTT with the Kennebell.

Edit: Gears won't actually produce any power, but they will increase the seat of the pants feel of the car. Basically well worth the money.

Oh God, you know it man...HATE IT, HATE, HATE IT!
But I always will apologize when I am wr...wro...wron...ummm, not exactly 100% correct.
Yeah, I've had my share of healthy debates with Kilgore, but, as he said, it's all good.

So does no one like Vortec's S2 (8#)? For both the intercooler and the charger it's around $2K cheaper than a KB w/intercooler. I'm getting a supercharger for Christmas but haven't decided on which one yet.

Actually I kinda dumb with installing stuff on cars sad to say.
And when I said drive to Indy they are a certified KB shop which is the closest to me and thats where Id want to take it. If they are that easy to install I might look at one. And my brother in law works on cars and Im sure hed know how to do it. I guess Im just woried if I mess it up and there goes the engine. Im just got the car so it makes me nervous doing anything to it right now.

You can get a Vortech tuner kit for $2400ish, add injectors, pump, and tune and you'll be in the low 3's + install.

I'd take a non-intercooled Vortech over a Procharger any day. And KB does NOT > all. Depends on what you want. I'll take my (was) non-intercooled 8#'s of boost from my Vortech against any 8# KB kit. Granted a KB is more fun on the street, but all out acceleration... ummm no.

No, I'm a fan of the Vortech (and other centrifugals) as well. It may not make as much raw power as a 9lb KB in base trim, but it's also about $2,000,00 cheaper and very easily upgradeable when money becomes more plentiful and can be brought up to par in a hurry. Sometimes it's not always about making the most horsepower.....price is a very persuasive decision-maker. Don't ever feel bad for buying a blower, just because you didn't buy the most expensive one right off the bat, or aren't following suit with someone else’s taste. Vortech, Kenne Bell, Paxton, ATI, Whipple, AED....they all make top notch kits and one can all be made equally as deadly as another on the street, or at the track depending on tune and application. Choose what suits your needs and your budget the best and you’ll end up satisfied from all aspects in the end.
