I am in a dilemma. This being the last year of svt for a while, I dont want to be left out. I have had three mustangs, gt and a six banger, but now I want to play with the big boys. The local dealership has 3 Lightnings and 8 Cobras left, and they say they arent getting anymore. What should I do? Cobra or Lightning? Car or truck doesnt really matter as either will work for me, but it will be my daily driver. What would yall do?

are you going to haul wood or junk in an SVT truck ? If you need a work truck buy one. If you really want to have some fun buy the COBRA !!!!

I had a '01 Lightning, traded it for a '03 GT, traded that for my '01 Cobra. Was at the dealer today thinking I should trade it for the Sonic blue Lightning I saw as you can use a Lightning as a car but you can't use a Cobra like a truck. My dream would be to have both but in todays real world of high fuel and insurance I have to settle for one. Either is a great choice, wish the truck had a stick though.

an ideal world would be to have the cobra to play in and the svt truck to tow the baot to the lake with... but I can't only afford one and will settle for an 04 f150 4x4 FX offroad....

besides, the svt is 2 wheel drive....

get the cobra!!!!! go get it today.... don't wait... the most exciting thing I have ever drove.... stepped out of my highly modded GT into the cobra for the test drive and it was a done deal.... and that was before I started her up

the ride quality just rocks... nice and firm but not bone jaring.... shut down your pc and go get it!

Hmmmm.....

Well I just bought a 99 lightning. Now I also have a S/C 93 Cobra with 428 RWHP ( down a little this year with new engine ????). Any way, I had the lightning dyno'd the same day as my car. Jerry from ford chip flashed the comp. with his new tune. Mind you this truck is stock except for the air box, and it put down 355 RWHP and 436 RWT. I was amazed. Everyone is going to run from you in a street race with a Cobra but I have had more fun turning down T/A's and such in the lightning!!!!! Imagine telling your buds you got smoked by a truck. And it handles like a dream.

just had the same problem as you. I am 24 and what made my decision was insurrance. I am paying 1200 a year for the lightning. I would have been paying 2500 a year for the cobra. The lighting also has alot more leg room and it is nice to be able to throw stuff in the back. I don't really like driving stick everyday either. So I went with the lightning. Both are great vehicles, but you just have to decide which fits your lifestyle better.
